Procrastinate; you can do it tomorrow

Today, I did nothing.

Is my to-do list full? It certainly is.

but am I unapologetic for resting today? 101% yes.

This morning, I got out of bed at a later time than usual, ate delicious food (my aunt is very good at cooking I must say, she cooked fried pork today and made a matching sauce that almost tasted like KFC's! hahahaha) Going back, I watched Netflix and then chilled, slept again, ate again and now, decided to write this.

I love Sundays! But you know what I love more?

The idea of resting.

The person I was, before realizing how important the concept of rest is would freak out if she knew that these days, I've been slacking off. Back then, I was so heavy on productivity and by 'heavy' I mean the 'anxious type' of heavy.

Quite scary and a bit sad, right?

My closest friends would call me Ms. Workaholic. Allow me to justify for a bit hahaha, maybe I was just too keen on accomplishing things, too swamped in the brimful schedule that I had or maybe, I just wanted to make the most out of my days, I mean, who in the right mind wouldn't want to do that? -- to make the most out of their day?

Here's a line that convinced the once-workaholic-person that I was to quit being the workaholic that she was:

Procrastinate; you can do it tomorrow!

I've always placed great value on what Benjamin said, "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today." It is such an encouraging reminder that we must work right on the things that needs to be finished but now I realized, if your mind is not at its best during today, then the best resort is to leave the task for tomorrow. Never gaslight yourself into thinking that you can do it if you know that you can't, especially when tiredness has already taken its toll on you. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, true enough but that's where faith comes jumping right in. :))

So, drop that pen, go scroll through your TikTok fyp, go binge-watch that series.

Well bottom line is, take time to relax.

It's okay to procrastinate, just make sure that you can still make it to the deadline! :P

In this ever-changing world, we find ourselves worrying about a lot of things and would subconsciously let ourselves drown in pressure, workload and whatnot that we, most of the time, forget to rest. Giving yourself some time to slack off won’t hurt. This might not be the encouraging line that you expect to read today but, Procrastinate; you can do it tomorrow :))

  3. Ive been feelin guilty about procrastinating lately because my course is very time consuming and workdemanding, but after reading your blog... I started to reflect and realize the things you point out, like the ineffectiveness of forcing yourself to do the things that need to be finished when you're not really in that zone or mood for it.
I am now confident to procastinate and do my tasks tomorow! Hahaha...
